Where the players who transferred away from Oregon will play in 2023

Since the end of the 2022 regular season, a total of 30 players have transferred away from the Oregon program.

Here is a running list of where each of the Ducks’ departures has opted to transfer to as of May 11, 2023.

Players who left UO during the winter transfer window

Receiver Seven McGee (Oct. 31)

Sophomore receiver Seven McGee left the Oregon program on Oct. 31 and announced his intention to enter the portal. A former 4-star recruit in the class of 2021, he caught 11 passes for 67 yards and returned six kicks for 99 yards in seven games this season.

Transfer destination: McGee committed to transfer to Jackson State on Dec. 14

Receiver Dont’e Thornton (Nov. 28)

Sophomore receiver Dont’e Thornton announced on Nov. 28 that he intends to enter the portal. A former 4-star signee in the class of 2020, played in 11 games for the Ducks in 2022 and caught 17 passes for 366 yards and two touchdowns.

Transfer destination: Thornton committed to transfer to Tennesee on Jan. 9

Running back Byron Cardwell (Nov. 29)

Sophomore running back Byron Cardwell announced on Nov. 29 that he intends to enter the portal. A former 4-star recruit in the class of 2021, he ran for 493 yards on 72 carries (6.8 yards-per-carry) in 14 career games with the Ducks.

Transfer destination: Cardwell signed with the California Golden Bears on Dec. 21

Quarterback Jay Butterfield (Nov. 30)

Redshirt freshman Jay Butterfield announced on Nov. 30 that he intends to enter the portal. He was Oregon’s No. 3 quarterback each of the past two seasons. A former 4-star recruit, Butterfield was the No. 155 overall player and the No. 11 quarterback in the class of 2020.

Edge rusher Bradyn Swinson (Dec. 1)

A former 3-star recruit, Swinson was the No. 486 overall prospect in the class of 2020.

Transfer destination: Swinson committed to transfer to LSU on Dec. 21

Offensive lineman Bram Walden (Dec 3)

A former 4-star recruit, Walden was the No. 87 overall prospect and the No. 11 offensive tackle in the class of 2021. The Scottsdale, Ariz., native held offers from Utah, USC, and countless other programs.

Transfer destination: Walden committed to transfer to Arizona State on Dec. 26

Inside linebacker Jackson LaDuke (Dec. 4)

Jackson LaDuke, a redshirt freshman inside linebacker and former 3-star recruit, announced on Dec. 4 that he will enter the portal.

Transfer destination: LaDuke committed to transfer to Nevada on Dec. 9

Edge rusher Brandon Buckner (Dec. 4)

A former 3-star recruit, Brandon Buckner was the No. 780 overall prospect in the class of 2021. He did not play a snap for the Ducks in 2022.

Transfer destination: Buckner committed to transfer to Middle Tennesee on Dec. 21

Tight end Terrell Tilmon (Dec. 4)

A 6-foot-5, 221-pound former 3-star recruit in the class of 2021, Tilmon made the position switch from edge rusher to tight end last offseason but found himself buried behind a deep group of veterans.

Transfer destination: Tilmon committed to transfer to Texas Tech on Jan. 19

Linebacker Justin Flowe (Dec. 5)

A former 5-star recruit who was the No. 1 linebacker in the country in the class of 2020, Flowe is the second-highest-rated recruit in program history behind only Kayvon Thibodeaux.

Transfer destination: Flowe committed to transfer to Arizona on Dec. 18

Outside linebacker Jabril McNeill (Dec. 5)

McNeill, a former 4-star recruit, was the No. 360 overall player in the class of 2021 according to the On3 Consensus. He played in all 14 games as a true freshman last season but played in just three games this season.

Running back Sean Dollars (Dec. 6)

In 18 games over four seasons, Sean Dollars ran for 316 yards on 49 carries (6.1 yards per carry) and one touchdown. He also caught 18 passes for 144 yards.

Transfer destination: Dollars committed to transfer to Nevada on Dec. 11

Defensive back Jonathan Flowe (Dec. 12)

former 3-star recruit who was the No. 426 prospect in the class of 2021, according to the On3 Consensus, Flowe saw action in two games in two seasons with the Ducks.

Transfer destination: Still in portal

Tight end Moliki Matavao (Dec. 12)

A former 4-star recruit, Matavao was the No. 165 overall prospect and the No. 5 tight end in the class of 2021. In 12 games this season, he caught 10 passes for 134 yards and one touchdown.

Transfer destination: Matavao committed to transfer to UCLA on Dec. 20

Offensive lineman Dawson Jaramillo (Dec. 15)

In five seasons with the Ducks, Jaramillo played 22 career games and was heralded for his versatility and ability to slot in at multiple positions.

Transfer destination: Jarmaillo committed to transfer to NC State on Dec. 19

Edge rusher Jaden Navarrette (Dec. 17)

In three seasons with the Ducks, Navarrette played in one game as he was hindered by injuries.

Transfer destination: Still in portal

Receiver Isaiah Brevard (Jan. 13)

In two seasons at Oregon, Brevard played 24 offensive snaps and caught one pass for six yards. He played in 10 games for the Ducks last season, with the majority of his playing time coming on special teams.

Tight end Cam McCormick (Jan. 10)

McCormick, a veteran tight end who is set to return for his eighth collegiate season in 2023, announced that he has entered the transfer portal. In 22 career games with the Ducks, McCormick caught 18 passes for 169 yards and four touchdowns.

Transfer destination: McCormick committed to transfer to Miami on Jan. 15

Defensive tackle Keanu Williams (Jan. 16)

A former 4-star signee, Williams was the No. 342 overall prospect and No. 32 defensive lineman in the class of 2021.

Transfer destination: Williams committed to transfer to UCLA on Jan. 28

Receiver Caleb Chapman (Jan. 17)

Chapman, who transferred to Oregon from Texas A&M last offseason, appeared in nine of 13 games during his first season in Eugene. He caught one pass 15 yards on the season.

Transfer destination: Chapman committed to transfer to Incarnate Word on Feb. 28

Receiver Isaah Crocker (Jan. 19)

In five seasons at Oregon, Crocker played in 10 games and caught seven passes for 107 yards. In 2022, he saw action in four games and played 22 offensive snaps.

Transfer destination: Crocker committed to transfer to Nevada on April 28

Players who left Oregon during the spring transfer portal

Linebacker Keith Brown (April 15)

In 12 games last season, Brown recorded 21 tackles and 1.0 sacks. He made his first career start during Oregon’s Holiday Bowl win over North Carolina and recorded a team-high seven tackles.

Transfer destination: Brown announced on April 25 that he has committed to Lousiville

Defensive lineman Treven Ma’ae (April 15)

In four seasons with the Ducks, Ma’ae tallied 32 tackles, 4.0 tackles for loss, and 2.5 sacks in 29 games.

Transfer destination: Ma’ae announced on April 26 that he has committed to transfer to Baylor**

Cornerback Jalil Tucker (April 15)

Tucker, a 4-star signee who committed to the Ducks in October 2021, was the No. 109 overall player and No. 13 cornerback in the class of 2022. He redshirted in 2022.

Safety Trejon Williams (April 20)

A former standout at Jefferson High School in Portland, Trejon Williams was the No. 358 overall prospect in his class and the No. 3 prospect in the state of Oregon, according to the On3 Industry Rankings.

EDGE Anthony Jones (April 26)

A former 3-star signee in the class of 2022, Jones played eight snaps over the course of two games last season and redshirted.

Linebacker Harrison Taggart (April 26)

A former 4-star signee in the class of 2022, Taggart appeared in three games and played nine defensive snaps last season before utilizing a redshirt.

Cornerback Avante Dickerson (April 26)

A former 4-star signee, Avante Dickerson played in 12 games for the Ducks as a true freshman in 2021. Last season, though, he played in just one game for the Ducks.

Cornerback Darren Barkins (April 26)

As a redshirt freshman last season, former 3-star signee Darren Barkins played 29 defensive snaps and 27 special teams snaps while appearing in 13 games.

Defensive lineman Sir Mells (April 27)

As a true freshman in 2022, Mells played four defensive snaps in the Ducks’ win over Eastern Washington. A former 3-star signee, according to the On3 Industry Rankings, Mells was the No. 1000 overall prospect and No. 122 defensive lineman in his class.
