6 Penn State players go in the first 2026 three-round NFL mock draft: Newsstand

Penn State news, notes, and updates for May 13 include a very early three-round 2026 NFL mock draft, headlines of the day, and more.
The College Football Network’s Owain Jones took a very early look at how the first two days of next year’s pro selection process could go. Of the six Nittany Lions he has going off the board, two are projected first round picks. He sends Drew Allar to the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 19 overall before Dani Dennis-Sutton goes to Baltimore at No. 28.
“At some point, the Pittsburgh Steelers will need to stop kicking the quarterback can down the road and invest in a young talent to be the future of their franchise,” Jones writes. “Drew Allar still has some work to do to improve his accuracy, but as a field general QB who thrives from inside the pocket, the Penn State Nittany Lions passer has the processing ability, strong arm, and game management to diagnose defenses and make plays.”
He adds on ‘DDS’:
“Penn State sending pass rushers to the NFL is nothing new. Dani Dennis-Sutton could be the latest Nittany Lion to have his name called in the NFL Draft and is on course to build on his 13 TFLs and 8.5 sacks in 2024. Also a solid run defender, the 6’5”, 265-pound edge rusher has powerful motion attacking offensive linemen’s chests and has the play strength to disengage blockers.”

Quote of the day
“I played with two players (Jon Mitchell and Antione Belgrave-Shorter) and they have said great things about Penn State. It is another school with great history. My father was born and raised in Philadelphia too, so I have family still there. They know how to develop great defensive linemen as well.”
