Penn State news, notes, and updates for Jan. 20 include an NFL Draft all-star game update involving a former player, headlines of the day, and more. It’s time to dive into Monday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

Penn State is usually well-represented in both the Senior Bowl and East-West Shrine Bowl. Both are key evaluation points on the path to the NFL Draft. However, considering how long the Lions played, it stood to reason that few, if any, former members of the team would be rushing to put the pads back on for either contest. However, we now know that PSU will have at least one representative in one of the games.

Jalen Kimber, who played cornerback for one season in State College, is on the Shrine Bowl roster. He made a career-high 37 tackles and recorded three pass breakups for the Lions in 2024.

“To Penn State University and Nittany Nation, I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks for welcoming me with open arms,” Kimber wrote in his draft declaration statement. ““This has been a one-of-a-kind experience that I will forever cherish.”

The East-West Shrine Bowl is on Thur., Jan. 30. AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Tex., hosts the game. And, NFL Network will televise it starting at 8 p.m. ET.
