Abdul Carter set to host first free youth football clinic
Abdul Carter is having a busy week. The Penn State junior defensive end first appeared in a workout video on social media alongside former Nittany Lion and current Dallas Cowboys edge rusher Micah Parsons.
Now, he’s getting set to host his first youth football camp. Promoting the event via his social media channels, Carter will shepherd a free clinic on Saturday, July 6, from 10 a.m. until noon in Philadelphia. Registration for campers ages 8 to 14 years old is available here and begins at 9 a.m. on site.

Carter’s one-day clinic will feature t-shirts for all campers, free giveaways, performance training, and lunch for all participants. It is set to be held at Aztec Field, located at 1101 West Hunting Park Avenue in North Philadelphia.

He was recently named to the first team unit of Phil Steele’s annual preseason All-Big Ten teams. Carter is already considered one of the top defensive ends in the league ahead of his transition to the position. He is also projected by ESPN’s Matt Miller as a potential breakout candidate for the 2025 NFL Draft. Because of it, Carter could be set for his third and possibly final season as a Nittany Lion.
Working under the direction of Penn State defensive line coach Deion Barnes, though, the process remains straightforward for Carter as camp quickly approaches.
“I think he’s doing well right now. It’s just, you know, that day-by-day basis. Just day by day, all right, I gotta improve on my technique, alright? I gotta improve on this,” said Barnes. “And I think training camp will tell a lot as far as once we start getting equipment on, start banging heads and everything.
“I think he’s doing a good job of trying to learn and soak up all the information that he can. And then trying to apply that on the football field. He’s not leaving any question unanswered.”
