Penn State tweets of the day

We start with Stacy Collins. ESPN first reported and BWI confirmed last Friday that the Penn State special teams coordinator was leaving the Lions after two seasons to return to Boise State. The Mountain West Conference school announced the news on Monday. Collins, an Oregon native, will be the Broncos’ assistant head coach/special teams coordinator/inside linebackers coach.

“My family and I are so excited to get back to Boise State and the Treasure Valley,” Collins said of his return,” Collins said in a released statement. “We know how special of a place it is and what can be achieved there, which is why I’m proud to Bleed Blue! I am really looking forward to continuing building off the momentum from last season. It is an honor to be able to work under the leadership of Spencer Danielson and Jeremiah Dickey. I am so fortunate to have maintained relationships with players and staff on the team from my time there and I cannot wait to get back to work with them.”

Said Boise State head coach Spencer Danielson:

“Stacy is one of the best special teams coaches that I have ever come across and an elite linebackers coach. He does an amazing job of developing young men on and off the field and the amount that he cares about his players is second to none. I’m incredibly excited to get to work with him again.”

Quote of the day

‘Really proud of Juice. For him to come back at the point he came back, we knew there would be growing pains. For him to come back and step in at guard position had to get familiar with that. Juice has gotten better. We’ve seen him grow and get better each week’

–Houston coach DeMeco Ryans on former PSU lineman and current Texans starting guard Juice Scruggs, per KPRC2-TV.
