Penn State receiver recruiting continues to lag
Despite heading into the official visit season with a long list of high-quality options, Penn State managed to recruit only one wide receiver for the Class of 2025 during June. Here’s the full list of Penn State official visitors and where they committed this summer.
- Corey Simms – USC
- Lex Cyrus – SCAR
- Quincy Porter – OSU
- Matthew Outten – VT
- Jeff Exinor – PSU
- Phillip Bell – Uncommitted
- Lyrick Samuel – PSU
- Taz Williams Jr. – Baylor
- Samari Reed – Ole Miss
- Koby Howard – Uncommitted
- Naeshaun Montgomery – Uncommitted
We’ll ask Snyder what he makes of that list and if he expected the Nittany Lions to be in this position in the back half of July. We’ll also specifically touch on the decisions made by Cyrus and Williams in the last week.
One last chance to fix it?
While the recruiting drama is never over, college football has one last weekend of recruiting before the team shifts its focus to the 2024 season. The annual Lasch Bash BBQ is next weekend, and the team will host camps during that final weekend. Can Penn State find a quality wide receiver to add to the class like they did quarterback Jaxon Smolik in 2023? Snyder will discuss how the Lions will approach the upcoming weekend.

Also, Penn State likes to have drama-free recruiting classes that don’t have surprises at the end. Can they maintain a drama-free 2025? Or will drastic measures need to be taken to ensure the team secures enough talent for the cycle?
Commitments and reviews
Finally, we’ll discuss the team’s recruiting win from last week. Three-star defensive tackle Randy Adirika joined the program, making him the first interior defensive lineman in the group. What kind of player is he? Snyder will share what he knows about the Florida defensive lineman.
Lastly, we’ll review the committed players in the class and discuss what sort of group Penn State has assembled this year.
