James Franklin previews the upcoming recruiting environment

“I think this is one of the Fridays where I’m not out,” Franklin said. “I’ve been out a good portion of the year. Not every game, but a good portion of the year, either Friday morning and Friday night. I don’t think I’m out this week. And then, we got a ton of recruits coming in on Saturday. That’s the hard part, especially with it being a 12 o’clock game. That makes it challenging.”

But most of the recruits get the big picture and understand that there’s a focus on the game for Franklin and Penn State.

“But I also think we try to communicate as much as we can with the recruits that, look, you just got to understand, we don’t have a whole lot of opportunity to sit down with guys individually. So, I think most of them understand that. And then some of them that are able to get in here early then we may do something with them if they’re here Friday or if they’re staying the night Saturday, it allows us to do some things on Sunday. But it’s challenging. Obviously, the game environment, the game, should create a great experience for them.”

Penn State hosting lineman on official visit

One player who will get extra attention on Saturday is three-star lineman Andrew Dennis. The former Michigan State commit is in town for an official visit, which he announced earlier this week. How does all of that work and how crucial is Dennis to the Penn State Class of 2024? We’ll discuss that, and more on the show.
