Only one more day remains before the 2023 NFL Draft. Penn State’s NFL-bound hopefuls will find out their fate over the next three days of draft selection in Kansas City. Today on the BWI Live Show, Thomas Frank Carr and Greg Pickel will predict where Penn State’s top-seven players in this cycle will go by round and pick.

They’ll also discuss the latest news in Penn State sports, including Storm Duck heading back into the transfer portal and wrestling picking up a commitment this week.

Penn State loses Duck to Portal

It was a surprise announcement last Friday that Duck only lasted one semester with the Nittany Lions. The fifth-year defensive back didn’t win a starting position outright this spring and decided to find a place where he could get more playing time. How does that move affect Penn State? Also, can Duck quickly find a spot to contribute with less than six months to integrate into a new defense?

Pickel and T-Frank will discuss this situation from both angles and find out where Penn State goes from here. They’ll examine the depth chart left after Duck’s departure and discuss if the portal could help them find more talent to replenish the depth chart.

Next, they’ll dive into the main event of the show. T-Frank and Pickel will discuss Pickel’s mock draft, where he predicted the landing spot for every Penn State player in the 2023 NFL Draft. The duo will take you through each selection and why Pickel thinks they’ll end up where they do.

Check out Pickle’s 2023 Mock Draft

Penn State football hopes to see many of its former players picked in this year’s NFL Draft. It starts Thursday night with Round 1 in Kansas City, Mo., and runs through Saturday’s seventh round. The Lions are not expected to have more than a handful of one-time members of the roster selected throughout the three-day extravaganza. But, that said, there are always surprises.

Each year, Blue-White Illustrated aims to predict not just how many Penn State players will hear their name called, but also which round they will go in and who will select them. Here’s this year’s version.

Penn State should only have one player picked on day one

Former second-team All-American Joey Porter Jr., has long been viewed as the player who would make Penn State history by becoming the program’s first defensive back ever taken in the first round of the NFL Draft. As Thursday has inched closer, though, many media mock drafts have had him going later in the opening stanza then anticipated. Still, we’d be stunned if he falls out of day one completely.
