The Penn State football team kicked off spring practice for 2025 on Tuesday with a full day of coverage. The day started out with head coach James Franklin meeting with the media at noon to discuss the upcoming 15 practices for roughly 40 minutes. Next, the team gave the media an extended view into practice, including a one-on-one period. We’re discussing all of that on the BWI Live Show today at 10 a.m. on YouTube.

Penn State practice recap and news

We’ll start the day by discussing the latest reports that teams are looking to shake up spring football and the way things are done. There was a report yesterday that Penn State was tentatively interested in doing a joint practice with Temple. We’ll discuss the pros and cons of that idea.

Next, we’ll dive into Penn State open practice and review the things we saw and heard from the offense and defense during the open period on Tuesday evening. Reporter Greg Pickel was at the event and will give his thoughts on both sides of the ball.

We’ll also discuss the new-look receiver room and which players stood out during the first day of practice.

Between the Lines

Next, we’ll rewind the clock to earlier on Tuesday and discuss Franklin’s comments to the media about a variety of topics. You can catch the full press conference on the Blue White Illustrated YouTube Channel, but we’ll pick a handful of topics and discuss them in detail with fans in the Live chat.

Some of those topics include the plan to replace former Penn State starting linebacker Kobe King, the nickel position battle, and how things will change with the Blue-White Game this year.

We’ll also discuss the opportunity to rebalance the passing attack now that the team has reset the main players who left this offseason, including Tyler Warren, Omari Evans, and Trey Wallace.
