Penn State Practice Update

The biggest news from yesterday’s camp was the absence of sophomore defensive end Jamieal Lyons and redshirt freshman linebacker Kaveion Keys. Fitz will give you the latest information on the situation. While we leave the situation’s circumstances aside, we discuss the impact of losing Lyons on the defensive end depth chart. How does the room look now? We discuss the defensive line, the malleability of the group’s positional versatility, and how that can change how Tom Allen calls games.

Next, we discuss what we saw at camp, including adding new coaches to the on-field training staff and what impact that had on practice. We highlight analyst Mark Dupuis and how his presence on the field can help the Penn State wide receivers, plus how the team divvied up the positional groups during the first day of camp.

Recruiting Wins and News

Wednesday was a busy day for the Penn State staff, with camp opening and two commitments on the same day. We discuss 2025 defense tackle Yvan Kemajou’s commitment and 2026 edge rusher Daniel Jennings.

The team also hosted two 2026 offensive linemen on Wednesday, which Fitz will discuss. And there’s more to come with Penn State recruiting. 2025 receiver Koby Howard decides on Aug 4, and the Nittany Lions are in a strong position. We discuss Howard’s potential fit with the receiving class and how he performed for the team during his last camp visit.

Howard isn’t the only player left on Penn State’s recruiting board. Fitz also discusses Malachi Goodman’s recruiting journey and timeline. While there isn’t a news update, there’s plenty to discuss with the team’s top remaining uncommitted prospect.

Finally, we’ll look ahead to the next phase of recruiting. What’s next on the calendar, and which players are on the Penn State recruiting radar? Join the show to find out!
