The team hits the road for the first time
Starting on the road is nothing new for Penn State. Head coach James Franklin made pointed jokes about the fact that his team has started Big Ten play on the road for the 13th time in the last 14 years. Yet, after opening the season on the road, is there a difference in doing it in week three?
“I’m not sure. We’re just experts of opening on the road, whether it’s the first game, the second game, the third game, the fourth game, not only in my ten years, but I think over the last 15 years. We’re experts. So, I think we’re going to put an offseason clinic on how to open in the Big Ten.”
Penn State offense is humming
The Penn State offense has been prolific this season, putting up 101 points in two games. Can they do it again this week? Having offensive coordinator Mike Yurcich in the press box has been a huge change for the team. one for the better.

” I think it’s clearly the better place to call the game. You just can see it better. You’re removed from the emotion. I think Danny O’Brien has done a good job on the sidelines as well. That’s helped. But I think I think so far, so good. And we’ve had to iron out a few kinks that have happened, whether it’s been with personnel or substitutions or some things that we got to get ironed out in terms of just a little bit of the differences on the sideline. But I think it’s been good,” Franklin said.
However, the team may get veteran reinforcements this week with cornerback Daequan Hardy, defensive end Amin Vanover, and defensive tackle Coziah Izzard returning to practice earlier this week.
