Penn State gets fast-riser in Coleman
Coleman announced late Sunday night, near the conclusion of his official visit with the Penn State program, that he was joining the Class of 2025.
“I’m excited to announce that I will be continuing my education and athletic career as a [Nittany] Lion,” he wrote on social media. “I’d like to thank everyone who’s been instrumental in getting me to this point. I’m truly honored and beyond grateful.”
Snyder also caught up with Coleman’s coach at Warren G. Harding High School, Matt Richardson. The first-year coach thinks the future is very bright for the nearly 6-5, 225-pound defensive end.

“He hasn’t even scratched the surface. Once he gets his weight up and learns how to use his hands and all that, the sky’s the limit,” he said.
Penn State Class of 2025 and Ranking context
Coleman is listed as an athlete by most recruiting services because he plays quarterback and has only played one season at defensive end. Despite that, he’s the 209th overall player in the Class of 2025 for On3.
However, his commitment has little impact on the Nittany Lions’ overall rankings. Both Rivals and 247 Sports don’t have Coleman ranked in the top 300 players nationally. But ESPN and On3 both have Coleman just outside the top 200 players. On3 gives the Ohio native a 91-overall ranking.
Still, Penn State’s overall ranking didn’t budge at 15 nationally and fifth in the Big Ten. However, Coleman has severely outplayed his current status. Check out the video to see highlights and our assement of what Coleman can be for the Nittany Lions.
