Harris is a surprise pick to start the class

Penn State defensive line coach Deion Barnes got on the board, nabbing Harris out of Maryland, a familiar recruiting ground for the Nittany Lions. In today’s video, we discuss Harris’ journey to Penn State, which includes an injury he played through in his senior season that has affected his development since that time.

Snyder recounts the testing data that he’s gathered on the 6-2, 200-pound defender and how the team plans to use him in the defense. Next, we discuss what skills he presents on film and what sort of player he can be in the Blue and White.

Some of Harris’ strengths are not apparent to the naked eye, so we discuss his run defense skills, his ability to play with his eyes, and his mindset when on the football field. But still, will he grow into the proper size for a defensive end? We discuss how length and frame play into that conversation.
