Penn State football got back on the receiver board Friday evening with a critical target. Four-star pass catcher Jeff Exinor joined the program by picking the Nittany Lions over Maryland. We discuss Exinor’s journey to the Class of 2025 in our Committed series. Recruiting insider Ryan Snyder discusses just how long Penn State has been after Exinor and how the close ties to McDonogh High School go even deeper for Exinor.

Penn State closes the deal with Exinor

While Exinor was a fixture at Penn State over the three years that the team recruited him, visiting campus more than six times, the team still put on the full-court press for him. Blue White Illustrated caught up with Exinor after his official visit earlier in June.

“It was great,” he said. “I mean, I’ve been up there a bunch but it still was better than expected. Just great vibes everywhere. I really got to dive deep into just how it is to live and be up there on a daily basis as well as get a sneak peak into how they envision me in their offense.”

Snyder discusses the long-standing relationship between Exinor and the staff and how one Big Ten rival school made a last-minute push to sway the 6-1.5 wide receiver.

Exinor’s steady improvement signals future growth

Next, we discuss Exinor’s path to Penn State as a prospect. The 215-pound recevier impressed Snyder during the spring Under Armour camp in Baltimore, posting impressive numbers in the vertical and broad jump. We discuss how that shows improvement from his junior film and how he fits with what wide receiverreceiver’s coach Marques Hagans emphasizes when teaching receivers.
