Penn State spring recruiting is in the books as the team looks ahead to the critical summer months and official visits. But, before turning the page, The BWI Daily Recruiting show looks back at what happened over the month and a half of spring football. They’ll also tell you just how many prospects came through campus in the first return to typical spring recruiting since the COVID-19 Pandemic started.

Key Penn State official visits and weekends set

Before that, host Greg Pickel and recruiting insider Ryan Snyder start the show looking forward to the summer calendar and important dates for Penn State official visits. They discuss the importance of announced visitors like four-star safeties Cam Seldon, Dakaari Nelson and linebacker Ta’Mere Robinson.

They’ll also discuss the importance of getting critical in-state prospect Rodney Gallagher on campus for a visit this past weekend. Finally, they’ll round out the show by discussing four-star linebacker Tony Rojas, where Snyder adds a foreboding warning about the end of this cycle.

They close the show discussing April recruiting under Penn State head coach James Franklin. Snyder explains why it’s such an important month for commitments and why it will continue to be that way. Finally, they discuss the impact of NIL on the transfer portal, the future of college football, and recruiting.

NFL fits for Penn State players on Day 3 of NFL Draft, UDFA

Penn State had eight players drafted in the 2022 NFL Drat, three of which we chronicled earlier this week. Check out the links below to see how they fit on their respective teams. Today we’ll look at the rest of the players drafted on day three or signed after the draft.

Jordan Stout first punter taken: 4th round to Baltimore Ravens

I’ve made it firmly clear that I know very little about special teams and kicking. I don’t know the proper technique to drop the ball – other than it should probably drop the way you hold it – and I don’t know anything about leg mechanics.

With that in mind, if the Baltimore Ravens think Penn State punter Jordan Stout is a fit for their franchise, I’d buy that idea at full price. John Harbaugh is a special teams expert, and they are a well-run, analytically driven organization. Stout does a great job of keeping the ball inbounds when he punts it and pinning teams inside the 20. Against a healthy Raven’s defense, that’s trouble for the opposition.
