Penn State adds coveted five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington to official visit schedule

Penn State isn’t messing around when it comes to locking in official visits with the nation’s top prospects. With more than 50 official visits already set for May and June, the Nittany Lions have already assembled a stacked list of visitors for later this year.
On Thursday, that list became even better, as five-star cornerback Brandon Arrington confirmed via social media that he’s locked in a date with Penn State. The California native set a date for May 2-4, which is the earliest official visit we’ve seen the Nittany Lions set so far.
Listed at just under 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, Arrington earned an offer from Penn State during his sophomore season in Oct. 2023. At the end of his freshman year, he ran the 100-meter in 10.58 seconds, which grabbed the attention of schools all across the country. Since then, he’s only improved on that mark, running a personal best of 10.27 seconds in the spring of 2024.

With such impressive numbers that early in his high school career, it should be no surprise that Arrington’s offer from Florida earlier this week was the 44th he’s earned since dating back to Jan. 2023. The Mount Miguel prospect announced on Feb. 12 that the Nittany Lions were one of 12 schools he was still considering. The other 11 are Alabama, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Michigan, Nebraska, Oklahoma, Oregon, Texas A&M, UCLA and USC.
Penn State is now the fourth school that he’s set an official visit with, joining Texas A&M (June 5-7), Oregon (June 13-15) and USC (June 17-19). On3’s Steve Wiltfong logged a pick back in October for Arrington to end up with the Aggies. However, on Monday, he mentioned Alabama as the team to watch when discussing the top prospects inside the updated On300.

“Alabama has the momentum right now for the La Mesa (Calif.) Mount Miguel standout, but they’re going to have to battle Oregon, Texas A&M and USC. All four of these programs have been at the top at different points.”
Penn State already holds one commitment at cornerback from New Jersey native Julian Peterson. Arrington is now the sixth uncommitted player at the position to confirm he’ll take an official visit with Terry Smith and the entire coaching staff later this year.
Penn State also has official visits set with four-star cornerbacks Khary Adams and Jaziel Hart for June 6-8. Another Maryland native, Amauri Polydor, will also visit that weekend. Before that, Pennsylvania native Danny Odem will visit May 30 to June 1. Nebraska commit CJ Bronaugh will visit June 20-22.
