Penn State tweets of the day
We start with an update on Ellaville, Ga., Class of 2024 recruit Zayden Walker. The five-star, No. 19 player overall in the On3 Industry Rankings, and No. 1 linebacker has set a decision date. He will pick his college home on July 5, he tells On3’s Chad Simmons.
“That date just gives me time after my official visits to come home, think about it and make the right decision,” Walker told On3. “The official visits will play a big role in my decision, so I want to soak it all in, listen to the different coaches and think about it a little before I commit.”
The good news for Penn State is that it is hosting him for one of those official visits. The 6-foot-1, 225-pound senior-to-be will take an all-expenses-paid trip to State College the weekend of June 7. He will also see other contenders Georgia (May 31), Miami (June 14), and South Carolina (June 21). The bad news for head coach James Franklin’s program is that it already has a mountain to climb if to land Walker before the trips even take place.

“Going into the visits, Georgia and South Carolina have a little edge, but Miami and Penn State are still high on my list too,” Walker told On3. “It comes down to the relationships and my future. I want that chance to play, be developed as a player and life after football is something I am looking at when I make the decision.”
Speaking specifically on Penn State, the five-star said:
“I am really cool with DJ Bryant (Recruiting Coordinator) and I like Coach Tom Allen a lot. I haven’t visited Penn State, so I don’t know as much about them, but I like how they have recruited me and I want to see what it is like.”

Quote of the day
“It’s pretty surreal. You try to prepare yourself as best as possible during the process, but you really have no idea where you’re going to go. Once the bus rolled up the road and we saw the stadium and the facility, it’s really breathtaking. It’s really an incredible experience that I feel truly blessed to be able to experience. It’s just unbelievable.”
