Penn State tweets of the day
We start with wrestling. Former Nittany Lion Jason Nolf won the 74-kilogram bracket at the Zagreb Open. He continues to put strong performances together with a goal of making the U.S. Olympic Team.
“After going 4-0 during the morning session, Nolf earned a punishing 10-1 decision against Hossein Abouzaripashakolaei of Iran in the 74 kg gold medal match,” USA Wrestling writes. “Nolf trailed 1-0 at the break but came back with relentless pace to score four second-period takedowns, plus a gut wrench exposure, to run away with the match.
“Nolf has now won gold medals in his last three international outings—the Zagreb Open times two and the Bill Farrell Memorial International held last November. He has finished as Final X runner-up and U.S. Open champion the past two seasons and is one of the top contenders to make the U.S. Olympic Team at 74 kg.”

Quote of the day
“Those guys, they still have the opportunity to redshirt. Kasak has two more opportunities [before burning his redshirt]. Davis still has one opportunity to wrestle [before burning his redshirt. We have other good guys in those weights. So that’s something that shows the depth. But, we’re still kind of working through those situations.
“I think that , maybe as much as any other coaching staff in the country, we try to be patient. We let these things play out pretty much as long as we can. So, we still have a little bit of time.”
–PSU associate head coach Cody Sanderson on what the Lions will do at 125 and 149 pounds with Braeden Davis and Tyler Kasak, respectively.
