Penn State football news, notes, and updates for Aug. 16 include an update on Caziah Holmes. Carl Nassib also has a new NFL home. And there are other updates to know.

It’s time to dive into Tuesday’s top tweets and headlines about the Nittany Lions and college athletics.

Penn State tweets of the day

We start with the latest on Caziah Holmes.

The former Penn State running back was not listed on the Lions’ roster Saturday. However, by Monday, he had tweeted a farewell to the program. And, he also entered the NCAA transfer portal, which allows him to move on to a new school. However, without a waiver, he wouldn’t be eligible to play somewhere this fall.

“My time at Penn State has been a great time with all the ups and downs,” Holmes tweeted.

“So grateful for all the lifelong relationships I’ve made during my time there. With that being said I’m officially in the transfer portal and excited to see what’s next in my future.”

Holmes redshirted in 2021; accordingly, he has four seasons of college football eligibility remaining.

In other transfer news, Class of 2022 signee Ken Talley is also in the portal. Although, unlike Holmes, that decision came about three weeks after the defender showed up on campus.
