Former Penn State quarterback Beau Pribula has found his next school. After entering the portal one week ago to the day, Pribula took visits to Missouri, Ole Miss, Iowa and UCF. Now, according to On3’s Pete Nakos, the York, Pa. native has decided to transfer to Missouri to play for head coach Eli Drinkwitz and his staff next season. He has two seasons of eligibility remaining.
A member of Penn State’s Class of 2022, Pribula was one of the first players to commit to the class in August 2020. Despite the addition of Drew Allar the following spring, the Central York prospect never wavered and ultimately emerged as a leader in the class.
Pribula, who grew up a Penn State fan, was also a leader in the locker room. Despite primarily serving as Allar’s backup, he played in 24 games the past two seasons, throwing for 424 yards and nine touchdowns while also rushing for 594 yards and 10 touchdowns.
The 6-foot-2, 200-pound signal-caller will best be remembered for his performance against Wisconsin earlier this season. Down 10-7 at halftime, Pribula took over for an injured Allar in the third quarter and went on to complete 11 of 13 pass attempts and one touchdown to help keep Penn State undefeated at the time.

“Growing up in Pennsylvania, it has always been a dream of mine to play football for Penn State,” Pribula wrote following his announcement to enter the portal. “Wearing the blue & white these last 3 years has brought me some of the greatest moments or my life. The current NCAA post-season model creates a challenge for student-athletes. The overlapping CFB playoff & transfer portal timeline has forced me into an impossible decision.

“After speaking at length with my family and coaches, it is with a heavy heart that l announce my intentions to enter the transfer portal and depart from the team to explore opportunities elsewhere. I want to thank the coaches, my teammates, the fanbase, and everyone else who has supported me along this journey. For the rest of my life, I stand proud as a Penn State graduate and letterman.”
Missouri looks to be a good fit for Pribula, as the Tigers are set to lose starter Brady Cook after this season. His primary competition will be former Arizona State and Notre Dame quarterback Drew Pyne, who joined the Missouri via the transfer portal last spring. Drinkwitz and his staff also picked up a commitment from Pennsylvania native Matt Zollers. The Tigers are coming off a 9-3 season in the SEC and finished 10-2 last season.
As for Penn State, Allar confirmed this past week that he’ll return for his senior season. Freshman Ethan Grunkemeyer earned his first snaps late against SMU this week, while redshirt freshman Jaxon Smolik just recently returned from injury but hasn’t been cleared for games yet.
