Former Penn State receiver Matt Zanellato lands new job at UMass: Newsstand

We start with an alum. Former Nittany Lion receiver Matt Zanellato is now the receivers coach at Massachusetts. He replaces Ryan Partridge, who left the Minutemen for a high school job in Florida, according to Football Scoop. Zanellato was an analyst for the program since January of 2022 before being promoted. Since his playing days ended, the Burke, Va., native has worked as the receivers coach at Division-II Saginaw Valley State University, held the same role at D-2 program Lock Haven, was an analyst at Western Michigan, and served in a graduate assistant capacity at Davenport University.

In other news, a Penn State recruiting target has set his commitment day. Maryland defensive end Jaylen Harvey is set to decide on July 4. The four-star from Potomac, Md., is the No. 343 player according to the On3 Industry Rankings in the Class of 2024.

“I like Penn State a lot,” Harvey told On3’s Chad Simmons on Jan. 9. “My interest is very high in them. My relationship with the coaches, how they make me feel like a top recruit and the way they develop edge rushers have them up there. The way I feel there and how they coach guys like me up makes Penn State a program I would love to be a part of.”
