Penn State is on the board in its transfer class at a huge position of need. Former USC wide receiver Kyron Hudson announced on Monday that he has committed to the Nittany Lions. He arrived in Happy Valley for an official visit on Sunday.

The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Hudson caught 38 passes for 462 yards and three scores for the Trojans last season. His biggest output came in the season-opener against LSU, where he hailed in five passes for 83 yards and produced the biggest highlight of his career with a terrific one-handed catch between a pair of LSU defenders that went for a 24-yard gain. Later in the game, he pulled down another one-handed grab down the sideline that not only drew a targeting flag after a big hit, but also set the Trojans up for the game-winning field goal.

He caught four passes for 36 yards and a touchdown against Penn State back in October. His long reception of the year went for 39 yards against UCLA in a game in which he posted six catches for 79 yards. He finished his USC career with 72 receptions for 807 yards and eight touchdowns.

Hudson started nine games for the Trojans this season, including the season-finale against Notre Dame. Before that game, Hudson participated in the senior day tunnel walk, hinting that a departure was imminent. He has one year left to play at the college level.

The former Trojan will be the first wide receiver hosted by the Nittany Lions this Transfer Portal season. Penn State is also in line to receive visits from former FIU wideout Eric Rivers and former Ball State receiver Justin Bowick later this week. Former Miami (Ohio) wideout Reggie Virgil had a visit scheduled to Penn State, but signed with Texas Tech on Saturday.

Hudson’s brother, Oregon defensive tackle Keyon Ware-Hudson, played against Penn State in the Big Ten title game last weekend but did not record a statistic.
