As Penn State’s White Out list for next weekend’s game against Minnesota continues to come together, another top prospect has confirmed his plans to be in attendance.

Ohio native Brian Robinson, a 6-foot-5, 230-pound edge rusher, has yet to see a game inside Beaver Stadium. Following two visits to State College earlier this year, that’s now set to change next weekend.

Back in the summer, Robinson grabbed the attention of everyone in attendance for Penn State’s Lion Strong 7-on-7 tournament on June 24, putting together one of the strongest workouts we saw this year during the Big Man Challenge. That was actually his second visit to University Park, as he previously visited April 22, the day before the Blue-White Game.

“That was definitely a memorable visit,” Robinson said previously. “My dad and I went, and I got offered that day, plus Micah Parsons was there the day I visited. That’s my favorite player, so it was amazing to get to meet him, plus also get offered.”

Robinson said that he instantly connected with not only Penn State defensive line coach John Scott Jr., but head coach James Franklin on that first visit.

“The relationship is wonderful,” Robinson said. “Coach Scott has given me a lot of pointers on different things I can work on and improve on. Honestly, I’ve taken a lot of that and it’s helped me with a lot of my camps, so that’s been great. But also, Coach Franklin has to be one of the most amazing head coaches I’ve ever met.

“I’ve met a lot of head coaches, but he’s definitely one of the different ones. He’s very family-oriented. One of the things that caught my eye was, in the middle of practice, he stopped what he was doing because his daughter was about to leave. He stopped, blew her a kiss, and told her to call him when she got home. Seeing that really showed me how important his family is to him. I’ve never seen a head coach do anything like that on any of my visits.”

You won’t find many prospects who have been more active in the Class of 2024 when it comes to visiting other schools. Since the spring, Robinson has visited more than 20 different schools, with Kentucky, Michigan, Notre Dame, Ohio State and Pitt all hosting him at least twice. Currently, Kentucky, Michigan and Notre Dame feel like Penn State’s top competitors. The Buckeyes have yet to offer the Youngstown native.

According to the On3 Consensus, Robinson is ranked No. 129 nationally. He’s the 12th-ranked defensive end and No. 3 overall in Ohio.
