Week three of Penn State football spring practice is underway.

The Nittany Lions were back on the field Monday and will put on their pads twice more this week as the program inches closer to the 2022 Blue-White game.

Newsstand updates for April 5 are heavy on recruiting news. But, they also include a fascinating question and much more.

Let’s dive into Tuesday’s best tweets and headlines about Penn State and college athletics.

We start with recruiting.

As BWI’s Ryan Snyder reported last week, Penn State will host a top-100 four-star prospect this weekend.

It is Omillio Agard. The 5-foot-,10, 160-pound Class of 2024 corner is No. 86 overall in the On3 Consensus player rankings, No. 13 at his position, and No. 3 in Pennsylvania.

“I talk to Penn State a lot. They already know they’re high on my list,” Agard told BWI’s Snyder.

“They’ve been talking to me since I was in eighth grade. Coach Terry [Smith] and Coach [James] Franklin, we’re like best friends. It’s a great relationship and I’ve met their whole coaching staff now.”

Agard last visited Penn State for the Whiteout game in September. He also was on campus last June.

Penn State will also host three-star Class of 2024 offensive lineman Andrew Erby and Class of 2024 quarterback Alex Erby this weekend. They play at Steel-High in the Harrisburg area and their visit is set for Friday.

In other news, the official Penn State football social media accounts asked an interesting question on Monday: Who is your favorite Nittany Lion ever?

The answers were unsurprisingly skewed by age, recency bias, and the likes. But, all sorts of players are listed, including Jeff Hastings, Franco Harris, Saquon Barkley, John Cappelletti, and many, many more. There is no right or wrong answer, of course, but we put it to you: Who’s your pick?

Discuss it with us inside The Lions Den message board.

Quote of the day

“Some teams just asked me what I could do, if I could play all six [secondary] positions. And I say yes. Throughout junior college and throughout my time here I’ve shown my versatility. I showed that I could play anywhere in the secondary, whether that’s corner, nickel, boundary nickel or both safety spots.”

PSU safety Jaquan Brisker to reporters about his conversations with NFL teams leading up to this year’s Draft.
