Penn State once again has a quarterback participating in the Elite 11 Finals. After missing out on last year’s event, California native Troy Huhn is set to be the fifth future Nittany Lion in the past six years to attend the country’s most prestigious event for up-and-coming quarterbacks.

This past weekend, Huhn had a very good performance at the State College regional. Although he didn’t immediately earn an invitation, multiple coaches recognized Huhn as one of the most consistent performers.

Of course, Huhn is one of two quarterbacks in Penn State’s Class of 2026 after the Nittany Lions added Nazareth, Pa., native Peyton Falzone last month. Although Falzone is currently rated higher than Huhn, it was clear Sunday that while Falzone has an excellent arm and loads of potential, Huhn is currently the more polished player.

“The Mission Hills quarterback is incredibly consistent,” wrote BWI’s Thomas Frank Carr following the event. He looks like an athlete who’s been playing quarterback and schooled in proper mechanics all his life, even though he’s only been playing the position for the last four years.

“Whether it’s his arm talent, mechanics, or accuracy, Huhn checks all of the boxes. He showed off his smooth, repeatable throwing motion on Sunday and looked confident and capable in all Elite 11 passing drills.”

Listed at 6-foot-4, 205 pounds, Huhn was the second player to commit to Penn State’s 2026 class last June. Even after the Nittany Lions decided to add a second quarterback, the San Marcos native didn’t flinch with his commitment, even after schools like Auburn and Ohio State pressured him into potentially visiting.

“Penn State is the school for me because of what they do for me,” Huhn told On3. “The unconditional love they show me is unbelievable and I’m so grateful for it.”

He went on to add, “I am done. They have always done such a great job keeping good care of me, nonstop checking in, making sure I am happy. I am locked in with Penn State.”

Huhn is currently ranked No. 271 nationally in the On3 Industry Rankings. He’s the 19th-ranked quarterback prospect and No. 28 overall in California.
