SCOTTSDALE — Six-seeded Penn State and three-seed Boise State are now just a day away from the first-ever College Football Playoff quarterfinal round matchup at nearby State Farm Stadium in Glendale. Both teams flew into Phoenix on Saturday and hit the practice field while fulfilling media obligations Sunday. The two teams’ head coaches will speak this morning and then all attention will turn toward game day.

“We want to play the best team,” Boise State defensive coordinator Eric Chinander said this week. “You’re in the last eight for a reason. Our kids deserve to  play the best team. That’s what this part of football is about.

We’ll see. We’re not favored in this game. That’s not a secret. That’s out on the internet. Everybody  can read it, right? But all we’re asking for is a chance, and that’s why you play these games.”
