How to watch Penn State-Minnesota; pregame info, weather, spread, kick time, more: Gameday Central
Minneapolis, Minn. — Welcome back to game day, Penn State fans! The No. 4 Nittany Lions arrived down here just before dinner time on Friday afternoon ahead of today’s meeting with Minnesota. Head coach James Franklin’s team is a double-digit favorite over PJ Fleck’s Golden Gophers ahead of a chilly but seasonable afternoon.
“The stats that we talk about week in and week out, it’s the turnover ratio and the explosive play ratio,” Franklin said Wednesday. “And those two things are going to be critical on Saturday. And with a team that’s doing a really good job of turnover ratio, that’s going to be a factor. A major factor in the game. We’ve done a good job of protecting the football. We’re going to have to continue to do that.
“And the area that I think we can get better, that I think we talked about, like, a week or two ago, is that we’re creating some of those turnovers as well. So, you know, I give PJ [Fleck] a ton of credit. He kind of grew up professionally, like I did. Where before you can learn to win, you got to learn how not to lose games. And there’s certain things that will get you beat. And, that’s turning the ball over, and that’s giving up explosive plays, and that is not playing with a great effort.”
