It’s game day again, Penn State fans! The No. 11 Nittany Lions are back on the field at Rutgers today. Head coach James Franklin could win his 100th game as a head coach today. And, a victory would be both his team’s ninth of the season and also possibly what could propel it into the top 10 of the College Football Playoff rankings for the first time this year.
Franklin could also win his 76th contest in blue and white.
“When we first got here, it was under very different times and very challenging times,” Franklin said this week. “There’s been a ton of changes.
“Penn State’s a place that isn’t used to a whole lot of changes like we’ve had the last 10 years but I’m looking forward to the direction we’re going and what we’ve done. When you look at the entire picture, I’m pretty proud. Obviously, there are some things that we need to do better and I need to do better. But the overall body of work, I’m pretty proud of.”
Rutgers coach Greg Schiano also addressed reporters this week and broke down the Nittany Lions.
“I think what you’re looking at is what they are,” Schiano said.
“They’re one of the top 15 teams in America. They’re playing at that level now. That’s what I would say the biggest thing is. They’ve gotten better over the course of the season, and they’re playing at a high level right now.”
Blue-White Illustrated will have daylong complete coverage from pregame posts to an in-game live updates blog and thread to everything you need to know once the clock strikes four zeroes late Saturday night.

Series facts: Penn State holds a 30-2 all-time edge. At least 10 points have decided most games in this series in favor of the Nittany Lions. The Scarlet Knights last picked up a win over PSU in 1988 and have never scored a home triumph against the Lions.
