How to watch Penn State wrestling vs. Drexel: Projected lineups, start time, and more
Penn State wrestling opens its 2024-2025 season today when it hosts Drexel at Rec Hall. The Nittany Lions would be massive favorites in this match if such a betting market existed. That is true even if head coach Cael Sanderson’s team may not be at full strength due to last night’s NWCA All-Star Classic in State College. Five Nittany Lions — Beau Bartlett at 141 pounds, Shayne Van Ness (149), Tyler Kasak (157), Levi Haines (174), and Carter Starocci (184) — competed. They went 4-1, with Van Ness, Kasak, haines, and Starocci picking up wins while Bartlett suffered a setback in the exhibition match. Read a full event recap here. Before it, Sanderson called into question whether or not any of the five would compete on Sunday.
“Yeah, it looks like the majority of them will not be wrestling Sunday,” Sanderson said Monday. “I think there’s a couple of them that are considering it, but I think their focus right now is the all-star match. They’re wrestling some of the best guys in the country, so we want them to focus on that match.
“It doesn’t count on your record, but if you’re a competitor, every match obviously counts, and you want to go wrestle well and kind of set the tone and get things going. We have a lot of lot of really tough and able-bodied kids that are ready to jump in there, if the opportunities present themselves.”
We get you ready for the match below.

Projected starting lineups
As noted above, things will likely look a bit abnormal for the Lions today. Since we do not yet know which starters may not wrestle on back-to-back days, we’ll list them all in addition to the wrestler who might fill their spot. The wrestler in bold is the one we project to start. All rankings are courtesy of InterMat
