Penn State wrestling opens the 2025 portion of its season tonight when it kicks off Big Ten action by hosting Michigan State at Rec Hall. The No. 1 Nittany Lions are 6-0, while the Spartans are 2-1. The former last had its starters on the mat at the Collegiate Wrestling Duals in Nashville before Christmas while the latte competed last at Midland Championships Dec. 29-30 in Illinois.

“They’re always scrappy, always tough,” Lions coach Cael Sanderson said. “It’s kind of the same for all of our opponents. We’re still focusing on how do we get better, and what can we do? We don’t adjust our training to one specific team. We’re trying to get our guys ready for March right now. And, a lot of that is how do we approach these specific matches and how do we train? We got some great training in over break. Got some fun matches to come.”
