Penn State Edge Max Granville on his Goals For The 2024 Season

It’s decision day for four-star receiver Koby Howard. Penn State is one of the finalists for the Davie, Fla., Chaminade-Madonna Prep standout. The 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect has run a well-researched and high-travel recruitment. Now, he’s ready to pick his college home. Will head coach James Franklin’s team be the pick and earn its 23rd Class of 2025 commit and third pass catcher in the process? We preview his announcement below.

Tracking Howard’s recruitment to date

Howard’s recruitment ended with more than 40 offers. Florida State was the first program to extend one, doing so back in January of 2022. Penn State moved on the Sunshine State prospect in June of that year. He took a total of 40 visits. Only two of them were official visits, though. The receiver saw Ole Miss on June 14 and took a 48-hour all-expenses-paid trip to State College the weekend of June 21. Florida hosted him a total of 10 times but did not receive an official visit. Florida State was next on the list, hosting him six times but also not for an official. Penn State hosted him twice: Once for the official and then again for the Lasch Bash.

“I had a good time at the camp as well, learning and taking points from Coach [Marques] Hagans. I did some individual drills with him and one-on-ones,” Howard told BWI following his July visit. “That was a great experience. But overall, the vibe with all of Penn State’s coaches was great. It was a great time.”

Who are the finalists besides Penn State?

Howard has a top four that consists of Florida, Florida State, Ole Miss, and Penn State. He put that grouping out on July 30 while also setting his decision date for today. He is the nation’s No. 387 player overall in the On3 Industry Rankings, the No. 62 receiver, and the No. 55 player in his home state.

How can I watch and follow the announcement?

Howard is set for a 3 p.m. ET announcement. It is likely that he reveals his choice on social media. And, specifically, his Twitter page, which you can follow here. We will also have updates flowing on The Lions Den message board.
