It's decision day for Jaylen Harvey; will the four-star pick Penn State?
Penn State has not landed a Class of 2024 recruit since July. However, it aims to end that drought today. Four-star defensive end Jaylen Harvey will announce his decision today. The Nittany Lions are right in the thick of this recruitment as it comes to its conclusion.
“I like Penn State a lot,” Harvey said earlier this year. “My interest is very high in them. My relationship with the coaches, how they make me feel like a top recruit and the way they develop edge rushers have them up there. The way I feel there and how they coach guys like me up makes Penn State a program I would love to be a part of.”
Get ready for Harvey’s announcement with our preview below.
Tracking Jaylen Harvey’s recruitment
Harvey has not been shy about taking visits during his recruitment. A player with 25-plus offers has made a total of 27 visits. Eleven of them were to Penn State, which is by far the most of any school. He only took official visits to four schools, those. The 6-foot-2, 245-pound senior went on all-expenses-paid trips to Penn State, Florida, Maryland, and USC. It made that quintet the leaders in the clubhouse.
Who are the contenders besides Penn State?
The Gators are now out of the running. Harvey released a top three that consisted of Penn State, Maryland, and USC last week. Those will be the only three hats on the table on Monday night.
What does the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine say?
Penn State, powered by the number of times it hosted him and predictions from experts Ryan Snyder and Sean Fitz, leads in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine entering decision day. But, USC insider Scott Schrader has logged a pick in favor of the Trojans. So, this one will go down to the wire. But, as of this morning, the Lions lead.
How can you follow Harvey’s announcement?
Harvey tweeted on Sunday that his announcement will take place at Quince Orchard High School at 6:45 p.m. ET
