It's Penn State-Delaware week: Time, TV channel, early storylines, point spread, more
Welcome to Week 2 of the college football season, Penn State fans! The No. 7 and 1-0 Nittany Lions continue their non-conference slate on Saturday when Delaware invades Beaver Stadium. It will mark the first meeting between the two schools despite their proximity to each other. The Lions are coming off of a 38-15 win over West Virginia. The Blue Hens, meanwhile, have had some extra prep time as they beat Stony Brook 37-13 last Thursday.
“I was pleased with how we handled a lot of different looks and a lot of variety and variation that again, about the quarterback, I think he’s gonna have a good year,” Franklin said. “I think he’s going to cause problems for a lot of people from my vantage point.”

Game week schedule for the Lions
The schedule will be similar to what it has been in years past. There will be no media availability on Monday. On Tuesday, head coach James Franklin will hold his first news conference of the week around lunchtime. He will also speak after Wednesday’s practice and during the second half hour of the Penn State Coaches Show on Thursday, which runs from 6-7 p.m. ET. Select players will be made available to reporters on ZOOM or after practice in person Tuesday and Wednesday, respectively. And, an assistant coach will chat with the media Thursday morning.
Outside of a potential spot on a pregame show, that will be it for the week until Franklin’s postgame news conference, with players following him.

Early Penn State-Delaware story lines
–Who will be the Lions’ starting kicker? Sander Sahaydak relinquished the role to Alex Felkins after missing two first half field goals against the Mountaineers. The latter made a 25-yard field goal in the fourth quarter and a trio of extra points.
–Are any of the Penn State players who missed the West Virginia game returning for the Delaware game? We are seeking updates on defensive tackle Coziah Izzard, defensive end Amin Vanover, and cornerback Daequan Hardy primarily.
–Can the Lions pitch their first shutout of the season? And, how many points can they score? This should be a name the final outcome game for Penn State against an incredibly overmatched foe. And, we’d be surprised if this weekend’s visitors found the end zone.
