James Franklin weekly press conference: Live updates
Penn State head coach James Franklin is meeting with the media ahead of his Nittany Lions’ final home game of the 2021 season.
And for the fourth time in six weeks, it will come after a loss.
Most recently, Penn State dropped a 21-17 decision to No. 6-ranked Michigan at Beaver Stadium on Saturday. Trailing in the fourth quarter, the Nittany Lions’ briefly took a 17-14 lead until a 47-yard catch-and-run touchdown for the Wolverines sealed Penn State’s fate.
Now, they’ll look to dust themselves off in the last game at Beaver Stadium for many of the Nittany Lions’ seniors.
Which ones will be playing their final home games at Penn State? With the bonus COVID year still in play as an option for both players and programs – though the 85 scholarship limit will be in effect for the 2022 season – James Franklin will be asked to shed light on decisions yet to be made.

Other expected topics will include the progress made by Penn State’s rushing game against the Wolverines, ongoing issues with offensive firepower, the Nittany Lions’ approach to Rutgers, and maintaining motivation when many of the season’s goals have been dashed by recent outcomes.
Does Penn State have enough to play for to handle a Rutgers team entering the game with bowl eligibility attached to a win? Are the Nittany Lions in a position to make improvements this late in the season?
Blue White Illustrated is providing a live play-by-play of Franklin’s press conference.
