Penn State gets the job done

It wasn’t perfect, but Penn State dominated Boise State in enough facets of the game to get the win. The Lions did what most thought was impossible and kept Ashton Jeanty contained for the entirety of the Fiesta Bowl. The superstar tailback managed only 96 yards on 24 carries before Penn State put the game out of reach in the fourth quarter. The team did it without star linebacker Abdul Carter, who went down with a shoulder injury in the first quarter and did not return. Overall, the team racked up eight tackles for loss to keep Jeanty contained before he got going.

Offensively, Penn State used another strong game from Kaytron Allen and Nick Singleton to power the win. Allen was his typical gritty self, grinding out 15 carries for 131 yards. Singleton contributed a 58-yard touchdown to seal the game.
