Recap: Penn State-Auburn score, stats, and more from Jordan-Hare Stadium
Auburn, Ala. — It’s game day again for Penn State football.
The Nittany Lions arrived on Friday for today’s non-conference matchup with Auburn. Penn State fans have traveled well for the contest, which starts at 3:30 p.m. on CBS. The Penn State Sports Network will also be on the call with Steve Jones, Jack Ham, and Brian Tripp. Stream it here.
Blue-White Illustrated is on the ground here and will have complete coverage before, during, and after kickoff. Tickets were still available as of Saturday morning. But, a near sellout crowd is expected, and there will be plenty of fans wearing white and cheering for James Franklin’s team.
“It’s going to be challenging, and we are going to try it prepare for it the best we can,” Penn State head coach James Franklin said. At the end of the day, we still have to go out and execute it. And that’s not just with our starters. That’s with whoever could possibly be in the game.
“It’s going to be a challenge. Obviously this is their orange out. Kind of listen to all their press conferences and watched all those things, talked to a lot of people that have played there and been a part of that environment.”
Penn State is a 2.5-point favorite prior to kickoff. The line has sat at about a field goal all week. The Lions lead the all-time series 2-1. They won the last meeting between the two sides a year ago by a 28-20 count at Beaver Stadium. This matchup concludes a two-year home-and-home series between the Big Ten and SEC sides. Today’s game also marks the first time a Big Ten school is playing at Jordan-Hare Stadium.
