Penn State football is back on the field today.

No. 10 Penn State meets Indiana today at Noon ET. The Nittany Lions are 24-2 all-time against the Hoosiers and are riding a two-game winning streak. CBS will televise the contest on a beautiful day at Beaver Stadium.

“The best way to move on is to focus on the next opponent, learn from it, which we did on Saturday night, which we did on all day Sunday,” head coach James Franklin said. The Lions lost to Ohio State 20-12 last weekend.

“But then, it’s time to move on to the next opponent, learn the lessons from the game, make the corrections, and then pour all of our energy into finding a way to get a win against Indiana and playing well, so we can build that confidence and take it for the rest of the season.”

Lions-Hoosiers fourth quarter updates

3:26 — Penn State wins it 33-24.

3:23 — Tyler Warren recovers Indiana’s onside free kick. Penn State takes over with a 33-24 lead. There is 1:32 remaining.

3:20 — Safety: Penn State stripped Sorsby but the defense could not fall on it before the ball flew out of the end zone. Lions lead increases to 33-24, however, with 1:33 to play.

3:14 — Touchdown, Penn State: Drew Allar airs it out to KeAndre Lambert-Smith for six. It was a 57-yard scoring strike down the sideline. There is 1:46 to play. The Lions lead 31-24.

3:08 — Indiana kicks a field goal from 35 yards out, and it is good. Penn State and the Hoosiers are tied at 24 with 2:58 to play. The Lions were 31.5-point favorites at kickoff.

3:05 — Drew Allar is very slow to get up after throwing his first interception if the year, and it was a brutal one. He jogged off, but Indiana takes over that the Penn State 21 with 5:02 to play.

3:00 — Turnover: Indiana fumbles on third down, and the ruling on the field is that the Hoosiers recovered after being short of the line to gain. They will punt it away with six minutes to play

2:54 — Drew Allar sacked on 2nd and 9, bringing up 3rd and 12. Penn State had a completion to Dante Cephas, but he’s short of the sticks by two yards. Lions will punt with eight minutes to go.

2:47 — Touchdown, Indiana: Sorsby to Cooper for 15. Penn State defense just looked tired on that drive. The Lions now lead Indiana 24-20 with 10:54 to play. And, cornerback Johnny Dixon was hurt on that series, too.

Penn State-Indiana third quarter updates

2:37 — Three quarters are in the books, and Penn State leads Indiana 24-14. Hoosiers have a fresh set of downs at its own 33 when play resumes.

2:33 — A quick three and out for the Penn State offense will bring out the punt team. Nicholas Singleton dropped a second down pass that would have given the Lions a better look at third down.

2:28 — Indiana’s field goal attempt is no good. Penn State leads the Hoosiers 24-14 with 2:09 left in the third quarter. A third down sack from Daequan Hardy was a big play at the end of that failed drive for Indiana.

2:16 — Touchdown, Penn State: Drew Allar to Theo Johnson for six. The Lions open the second half with a scoring drive and now lead Indiana 24-14.

2:11 — Few nice runs for Kaytron Allen to start the second half. Penn State is across midfield.

Second quarter updates

1:47 — Alex Felkins’ 50-yard field goal is good. Penn State leads Indiana 17-14 at halftime. It was an ugly one for the Lions. But, they leave it with a lead and get the ball to start the second half.

1:45 — Drew Allar was hurried on third down and he throws it away. After a discussion, a flag is dropped for intentional grounding. So, it will be a longer kick for Alex Felkins on 4th down with 17 seconds left.

1:38 — Interception: Jaylen Reed picks off Sorsby’s wayward pass and Penn State gets it back around midfield with 1:01 left in the first half.

1:28 — Touchdown, Penn State: Nicholas Singleton gets in from two yards out, and the Lions have evened things up with Indiana 14 late in the first half.

1:19 — Indiana has a bad snap on 4th and 7, Sorsby scrambles and finds an open receiver, who gets to the marker for a first down. If that doesn’t sum up this day for Penn State, nothing does. The play is being reviewed. It’s close. After review, Indiana was short of the line to gain. It wasn’t by much. But Penn State will take it, and it takes the ball back with 7:06 left in the first half. It is at its own 41.

1:10 — Penn State moved the ball a bit but an incompletion to KeAndre Lambert-Smith on third down leads to a 51-yard field goal attempt from Alex Felkins. It is no good. There is 10:16 left in the first half.

1:00 — Touchdown, Indiana: Penn State gives up another long passing touchdown. This time, its a 69-yard pitch and catch for six. Hoosiers lead the Lions 14-7.

12:56 — Penn State checks down (stunning, I know) on 3rd and 13 and will punt again.

First quarter updates

12:50 — Drew Allar hits Tyler Warren for a first down and that is the end of the first quarter. Penn State 7, Indiana 7. Lions start at their own 31 to begin the second quarter.

12:49 — Daequan Hardy returned a punt for a touchdown, but a flag flew early in the return and it’s coming back. Block in the back is the penalty, and it goes on Kolin Dinkins. Penn State takes over with :04 left in the first quarter.

12:48 — Penn State forces another three and out on defense as Sorsby’s pass sails incomplete. Indiana will punt again.

12:42 — Touchdown, Penn State: Khalil Dinkins runs wide open on 4th and short and Drew Allar finds him for six. The Lions are tied up with Indiana 7-7 with 1:37 left in the first quarter.

12:36 — Penn State gets a miracle as Indiana muffs the punt and KJ Winston recovers it at the Indiana 32. Lions take over there.

12:35 — Boos rain down again at Beaver Stadium after Drew Allar is sacked on third down. Penn State goes three and out again and will punt.

12:31 — Touchdown, Indiana: It’s a 90-yard passing strike for the Hooisers. Carter took it a long way after the catch. Caught it at the Indiana 36 and ran the rest of the way to paydirt. Indiana 7, Penn State 0, 7:37 to go in the first quarter.

12:29 — Penn State goes three and out and will punt. Harrison “Trey” Wallace III also was hurt on a thrid down drop and went to the locker room.

12:21 — Indiana goes three and out after starting off schedule with a false start. Hooisers will punt it back to Penn State with nine minutes left in the first quarter.

12:15 — Penn State runs on 3rd and 2 and gets stuff at the line of scrimmage. Lions will punt from their own 46 as boos rain down at Beaver Stadium.

12:10 — Penn State forces a three and out to start this contest. Indiana picked up five yards and will now punt from its own 30.

12:08 — The game is underway with a Gabe Nwosu touchdown. Indiana starts at its own 25.

Pregame notes

12:07 — Penn State wins the toss and defers. Indiana will start the game with the ball going right to left on your television screen.

12:03 — Kickoff is at 12:08. Vega Ioane will again start at guard. Nicholas Singleton will be the first running back up. Dante Cephas is the third receiver. And Dani Dennis-Sutton starts in place of Chop Robinson.

11:20 — After missing the trip to Columbus last weekend, tight end Andre Rappleyea is out, but is warming up with the other tight ends.

10:30 — For the Lions, receiver Tyler Johnson, safety Mehki Flowers, cornerback Elliot Washington II, running back Tyler Holzworth, Feyisayo Oluleye, defensive end Chop Robinson, linebacker Kaveion Keys, linemen Ian Harvie, Jim Fitzgerald, and Liam Powers, tight end Andrew Rappleyea, and end Smith Vilbert are OUT.
