Ann Arbor, Mich. — No. 10 Penn State takes on No. 5 Michigan today at Michigan Stadium here. This post will serve as your live updates home throughout the contest at ‘The Big House’.

It’s a brisk day with temperatures in the 40s. Wind will be a factor. It will blow at about 10 miles per hour throughout the game. Larger gusts are possible, as well

Head coach James Franklin’s Nittany Lions are a seven-point underdog. The betting total is down to 49 points. It opened at 52 earlier this week.

“This is going to be a physical game,” Lions coach James Franklin said. “This is going to be big boy ball on both sides of the ball. We understand what we’re getting into.

“Again, we got a ton of respect for these guys. And you know what: We’ll find out on Saturday. But, we’ve practiced that way. And, I think for the most part this year, we played that way. We’re going to have to do it on Saturday.”

Kickoff is at Noon ET. FOX will air the game with its lead crew of Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft on the call.

Fourth quarter Lions-Wolverines updates

3:40 – Michigan beats Penn State 41-17.

3:18 – Touchdown, Michigan: Donovan Edwards runs in from a few yards out. That’s now 25 unanswered for the Wolverines, who lead 41-17 with 5:03 to play.

3:00 – Jake Moody made another field goal. It’s Michigan 34, Penn State 17 wth 11 minutes to play.

Third quarter Penn State-Michigan updates

2:49 – End of three: Michigan 31, Penn State 17. Wolverines driving at the Lions’ 33 with 1st and 10 to start the fourth quarter.

2:34 – Michigan has scored another touchdown. Penn State went for it on 4th and 6 from the Michigan 39. It didn’t convert. One play later, Blake Corum took it 61 yards to pay dirt. It’s 31-17 Wolverines with 7:20 to play in the third quarter.

2:14 – After Donovan Edwards’ 67-yard touchdown run, JJ McCarthy throws to Ronnie Bell for a two-point conversion. Michigan now leads Penn State 24-17 with 11:12 to play.

2:06 – Penn State is back on top. Sean Clifford hit Harrison Wallace to the Michigan 16. PSU stalled from there, though, but Jake Pinegar was true from 27 yards out. It’s 17-176 Lions with 13:15 to play in the quarter.

Second quarter Lions-Wolverines updates

1:38 – It’s halftime. Michigan leads Penn State 16-14. Lions are still being outgained 274-84 but the Curtis Jacobs’ pick six plus a Sean Clifford 62-yard run that setup a Kaytron Allen touchdown have the Lions in this one. Penn State gets the ball when the second half begins.

1:36 – Jake Moody’s 23-yard field goal is good. Michigan retakes the leads over Penn State, 16-14, with two seconds left in the half.

1:22 – Penn State 14, Michigan 13, in the blink of an eye. Chop Robinson deflected the pass, which hit PJ Mustipher’s helmet before falling into Curtis Jacobs’ hands. He raced it 47 yards to pay dirt. With 4:27 left in the half, the Lions have a lead.

1:14 – Touchdown Penn State: Kaytron Allen rushes in from a yard out on fourth and one from the goal line. A Sean Clifford 61-yard run set up the score, and the Lions suddenly have life again. It’s Michigan 13, Penn State 7 with 6:11 left in the half.

1:06 — After a Blake Corum one-yard touchdown run, it’s 13-0 Michigan with 8:29 to go in the half. The Wolverines have run 35 plays to Penn State’s six. It’s resulted in a 196-9 yards advantage. The Lions do not have a first down, and Michigan is six of eight on third down.

First quarter Penn State-Michigan updates

12:46 — Michigan sent the house on third down, and all Sean Clifford could do was throw it away. Penn State will punt to start the second quarter. It’s 6-0 Wolverines after one.

12:36 — It’s Michigan 6, Penn State 0 with 1:25 left in the first half. The Wolverines marched 77 yards and included two third down conversions before the Lions’ defense got three straight stops inside of its own five to force another field goal.

12:18 – Michigan 3, Penn State 0 with 9:43 to play. Nice red zone stand for Manny Diaz’s defense to allow just a field goal. The Wolverines were aided by a Joey Porter Jr., penalty.

12:08 p.m.: Penn State wins the toss and defers. Michigan will kickoff to start this one.

11:45 – A smattering of boos for Penn State as it exits the field.

11:43 – Effner taking snaps at LG as well.

11:31 – Singleton with Clifford for first reps.

11:27 – Hunter Nourzad is here and warming up.

11:24 – KeAndre Lambert-Smith warming up, running routes, seemingly without issue.

11:16 – Tight end Tyler Warren dressed and warming up after missing the Northwestern game.

11:15 – Rod Snodgrass the referee today.

11:14 – Nicholas Singleton, Keyvone Lee, Kaytron Allen, Tank Smith, and Omari Evans repping kick return.

11 a.m. — Penn State arrived at about 10:20 a.m. Head coach James Franklin talked to both FOX and ESPN before taking his customary lap around the field. All players are accounted for at the moment. But, we’ll learn more once formal warmups begin in about 20 minutes. We’ll be watching closely to see what receiver KeAndre Lambert-Smith is doing after he missed most of the win two weeks ago due to injury. He did practice on Wednesday. On Tuesday, James Franklin had said he was “hopeful” that the team’s fourth-leading receiver would be available. Tight end Tyler Warren is another player we’ll be watching for. He has been dealing with bumps and bruises, as well.
