Recap: Penn State-Minnesota score, stats, and more
STATE COLLEGE — Penn State hosts Minnesota tonight at Beaver Stadium. Kickoff is set for just after 7:30 p.m. here. It is the White Out game, and a capacity crowd is expected. This post will serve as your live updates home throughout the contest.
“I got a ton of respect for Minnesota, their university, their football program, and their head football coach,” Penn State coach James Franklin said Thursday night. “So it’s gonna be a challenge. That’s been our message with the players: Tough one last week. We got to bounce back and be resilient. And that’s one of the great things about athletics in general and specifically college athletics, teaching these lessons.”
Golden Gophers coach PJ Fleck gave Penn State plenty of respect earlier in the week.
They’re Penn State, and they’re well coached,” Fleck said. “James (Franklin) does such a great job. I have such respect for him and what he’s been able to accomplish. When you read what James has actually done there, it’s amazing. Like when you read what he’s done consistently over the years, it’s consistency and sometimes in our profession, we sit there and we talk about break the boring, right?
“To stay at the top like that and to do what he’s done and the sustainability he’s had. It’s pretty impressive. So they’re really good football team. We’re studying as we speak right now.”
The game is on ABC. Joe Tessitore, Greg McElroy, and Kate Davis have the call from atop Beaver Stadium.
