Penn State picks up the 4th and 1 at the Minnesota 14 as Allar hits Warren to the Minnesota 3 and the Lions can run the clock out from here. It was far from a pretty win. But, it was a win for the Nittany Lions, who survive in Minneapolis to improve to 9-1.

Penn State went 75 yards in six plays, aided by a defensive pass interference penalty on Minnesota, to pull within one before halftime. Drew Allar ran in from two yards out to even the score at 17 with 19 seconds left in the first half. However, Minnesota blocked the extra point and raced back for a score. It’s Minnesota 19, Penn State 17 with 19 seconds to go in the second quarter.

Penn State, Minnesota down key secondary pieces

For Penn State, receivers Kaden Saunders, safety KJ Winston Jr., running back Cam Wallace, linebackers Keon Wylie, tight end Andrew Rappleyea, cornerback Elliot Washington II, and defensive end Zuriah Fisher are OUT. Receiver Julian Fleming is questionable.

Washington II was hurt last week. He left the game at halftime and did not return. Fleming did play last week but was not seen at practice this week.

For Minnesota, starting free safety Aidan Gousby is out. That means the Golden Gophers will have to shuffle their secondary.
