Recap: Penn State-Ohio State score, stats, and more
STATE COLLEGE — No. 13 Penn State welcomes No. 2 Ohio State to Beaver Stadium today. Kickoff is set for Noon ET on FOX. The network has its pregame show set off the south end zone.
“I just thought we had so much more diversity in our play calling and really in our execution as well,” head coach James Franklin said Thursday. “We did a good job of mixing the run in. We did a good job with the complementary runs, the reverses, and things like that,” Franklin said. “And even the reverse that only went for six yards, it still gives that defensive coordinator something to worry about. It gives the linebackers pause with their run fits and things like that. The play-action pass shots and those things off of it.
“I thought Sean made probably two throws in that game that probably in my opinion two of the better throws he made. The seam throw to Theo where he threw it before Theo had even turned around. Theo turned, and the ball almost caught him, it was right on him. And then the long touchdown pass to Parker where he was going to take a shot with a guy coming clean and stood in there and delivered a big-time throw. So we’re obviously going to need that on Saturday. We got to build on that performance. But that was a big part of the game.”
Gus Johnson, Joel Klatt, and Jenny Taft have the call.
