Brandon Cannon majors Joe Sealey 10-1 at 157 pounds. The Nittany Lion gave up two stalling calls en route to a loss in his first collegiate match. He filled in for injured starter Tyler Kasak. It’s 10-9 Ohio State at halftime.

No. 2 Shayne Van Ness scores a late third period takedown to beat No. 7 Dylan D’Emilio by decision, 4-1, at 149 pounds. Terrific match by both wrestlers. Penn State takes its first lead, 9-6, after 149 pounds.

Bartlett beats Mendez

Beau Bartlett tops Jesse Mendez 4-2. The Nittany Lion led the Buckeye 3-0 after the first period. He escaped in the second, which made it 4-0 Bartlett after two. Bartlett was called twice for stalling in the third, but that was it. Penn State and Ohio State are tied 6-6 after 141.

Braeden Davis hangs on

Braeden Davis fended off Nik Bouzakis by decision, 8-6. The Buckeye was the aggressor late in the third period but the Nittany Lion, who returned to the mat after a few weeks off, did what he needed to do late. Ohio State 6, Penn State 3 after 133.

McCrone pins Lilledahl

Ohio State leads Penn State 6-0 after Brendan McCrone decked Luke Lilledahl in 4:58. The Nittany Lions led at the time of the fall.

Penn State will be without at least two starters tonight

Greg Kerkvliet did not make the trip due to injury and neither did Tyler Kasak. So Penn State will have backups at 285 (Cole Mirasola) and 157 (Joe Sealey) respectively. It’s still up in the air if Braeden Davis will wrestle or not at 133. Kyison Garcia will if not.
