Penn State ran a reverse with Nick Singleton to Tyler Warren on the two-point play with the goal of throwing it to Drew Allar but it was too slow developing and the tight end slipped short of the end zone. “Once we cleaned up the bad ball, we had four 15 yards penalties, we put ourselves in a hole,” James Franklin told Jenny Dell on CBS. “We got to clean that stuff up. We can’t be behind the sticks against this team. As long as we’re not hurting ourselves and staying on schedule, we’re going to have a chance.”
“We just got to stop the bad ball stuff,” Franklin told the Penn State Sports Network. “We had four penalties for 15 yards. Once we stopped that, we got on schedule, we’re fine. On defense, have to be better on first down.”

The Lions’ defense bent but did not break on that drive. Oregon moved from its own 25 to the PSU 19 in six plays but got just a single yard after that.

It would have been very close if it went to a measurement but that ultimately did not matter.

Dillon Gabriel, the Oregon quarterback, was locked in. He was 3 of 3 for 48 yards. The scoring drive was nine plays, 84 yards in 4:16.

The big news here for Penn State is that receiver Trey Wallace and cornerback Elliot Washington II are both back after missing the last one and two games, respectively.
For Oregon, guard Marcus Harper is not listed and thus set to return to the lineup after a November absence. Backup DT Tionne Gray is questionable.
