Halftime: Wisconsin 10, Penn State 7

10/26/2024, 8:07:28 PM

Penn State gets the ball to start the second half. “They did a really good job in the first half of field position. That first punt that they had was a block that wasn’t a fake and the guy made a heck of a play. We’ll get them calmed down and put a good second half together.”

Penn State punts again, Drew Allar is hurt

10/26/2024, 8:06:59 PM

Allar was sacked on second down and seemed to have injured his left knee in the process. He is headed to the locker room.

Wisconsin retakes the lead

10/26/2024, 8:01:49 PM

Touchdown, Wisconsin: Walker rushes for a one-yard score after the 12 men on the field penalty. Too much sloppiness for Penn State in this half. Badgers lead 10-7 with 1:23 to go in the first half.

Dennis-Sutton to the injury tent

10/26/2024, 7:57:28 PM

Defensive end Dani Dennis-Sutton is hurt. He walked off under his own power favoring his right leg and went right to the sideline injury tent.

Two minute timeout time

10/26/2024, 7:51:14 PM

We’re at the two minute warning: Penn State 7, Wisconsin 3. The ball is on the PSU 43 and the Badgers have 2nd and 6 when play resumes.

Dinkins hold sets Lions latest drive back

10/26/2024, 7:44:33 PM

Drew Allar tried to hit Trey Wallace coming out of his break on third down but it wasn’t a good throw and Penn State will punt again. A hold on Khalil Dinkins set that drive back. Wisconsin takes over at its own 27 with 4:04 left in the half.

Wisconsin punts again

10/26/2024, 7:36:10 PM

Quick three and out for Wisconsin. This game is playing out mostly as expected with the Badgers offense. Can the Penn State offense get into a rhythm starting with this drive? Lions start at their own 20.

Lions latest drive stalls

10/26/2024, 7:31:45 PM

Drew Allar can only flip it to Kaytron Allen for a little on third down and Luke Fickell’s field position play works out as Penn State will punt after gaining just 21 yards. Badgers will take over at their own 36 with 8:36 left in the first half.

Penn State forces another punt

10/26/2024, 7:25:51 PM

A nice down field tackle by Tony Rojas set up a 4th and 2 for Wisconsin at their own 47. They briefly looked like they would go for it before Luke Fickell sent the punt team out to boos. Zion Tracy let the ball bounce and so Penn State takes over at its own 8 with 11:07 left in the first half.

Singleton one-handed catch gives Lions first lead

10/26/2024, 7:18:21 PM

Touchdown, Penn State: Nick Singleton with a ridiculous one-handed six-yard scoring catch to put the Lions up 7-3 over Wisconsin early in the second quarter. You’ll see highlights of that later tonight. It capped a big drive for the Lions, who marched 90 yards on nine plays for their first lead of the night. There is 14:37 left in the second quarter.

Lions start 2nd quarter with first and goal

10/26/2024, 7:13:07 PM

Big play for Penn State to end the quarter as Allar evades pressure and hits a wide-open Singleton, who runs down to the Wisconsin 8. The Lions have first and goal there when play resumes. Wisconsin 3, PSU 0 after one. Badgers’ 50-yard field goal currently the difference. PSU has a 131-67 yards edge after 15 minutes.

Penn State forces its second punt of the evening

10/26/2024, 7:06:21 PM

A valid holding call on Wisconsin forced by a great pass rush from Amin Vanover negated a Wisconsin first down and third down and ultimately a punt. Penn State takes over at its own 10 with 2:54 left in the first quarter.

First Penn State drive stalls out following bad drop

10/26/2024, 6:59:08 PM

Penn State moved with not complete but relative ease throughout most of its first drive. It reached the Wisconsin 28, where Julian Fleming ran wide open on a 3rd and 1 play. He may have scored if he caught it and would have, at the very least, set up 1st and goal. But, he dropped it. A play later, PSU ran a version of the tush push but Drew Allar fumbled and Wisconsin recovered. He would not have made the line to gain regardless. Wisconsin takes over up 3-0 at its own 28 with 6:15 left in the first half.

Interesting Wisconsin first drive ends with points

10/26/2024, 6:49:13 PM

Wisconsin gained 42 yards on its first drive. Twenty of them came via a 3rd and 15 completion and 15 more via a punter run as Penn State broke its fundamentals on fourth down. The Lions’ defense was not gashed but a couple plays set Nathanial Vakos up for a 50-yard field goal, which he drilled The Badgers lead 3-0 with 11:05 to go in the first quarter.
