Penn State wrestling stars and Nittany Lion Wrestling Club members are competing today at Final X. Two Nittany Lions are in third place matches to earn a backup position on Team USA. Seven others are battling for a starting spot on the senior team that will compete at the World Wrestling Championships in Croatia this September.

This is your home for live updates as the action unfolds in Newark, N.J. The third place matches start at 12:30 p.m. ET. The first round of the championship best-of-three finals starts at 2 p.m. ET. And, the second and third rounds (if necessary) start at 5 p.m. ET. FLO is streaming the event.

Penn State put three on the Senior Team USA at Final X. Incoming freshman PJ Duke pinned Yianni Diakomihalis in the match of the night to win the 70 kilogram final at the 4:07 mark. Levi Haines swept Evan Wick to win the 79-kilogram spot. And, Kyle Snyder swept Hayden Zillmer to win the top spot at 97 kilograms.

Marcus Blaze takes it to Brock Hardy to win third

Penn State incoming freshman Marcus Blaze beat Nebraska All-American Brock Hardy 8-2 to win the third-place spot on Team USA at 65 kilograms. The new Nittany Lion is also eligible for a U23 team spot now that he’s a member of the senior team.
