Two members of the Penn State football program are on this year’s EA Sports College Football deluxe edition cover. The company released its main cover and its expanded one on Tuesday while promising to reveal more information about the new video game, including a full trailer, on Thursday of this week.

Twelth year leader of the Lions James Franklin and senior running back Nick Singleton are joined on the deluxe edition cover by the likes of Arizona State’s Kenny Dillingham, Georgia’s Kirby Smart, Notre Dame’s Marcus Freeman, Ohio State’s Ryan Day, Ole Miss’ Lane Kiffin, Oregon’s Dan Lanning, among others.

“From Happy Valley to the cover!!” Singleton wrote on Instagram. “Let’s make history!!”

The main version features two receivers for the first time in EA Sports history. The chosen two are Alabama’s Ryan Williams and Ohio State’s Jeremiah Smith. You can see the deluxe edition cover above and the main one below:

College Football 26 will be available to play on July 10. More details are here.

“Last year, when we brought back the pride, pageantry, atmospheres and traditions of college football, the response from fans was overwhelming,” EA vice president of marketing Evan Dexter said in a statement to On3’s Pete Nakos.

“With College Football 26, we’re celebrating our sophomore season with two generational sophomore wide receivers on the cover, and we can’t wait for the world to experience even more heart and authenticity across athletes, stadiums, coaches and fans.”

The annual EA cover release is the latest sign that Penn State football season is approaching

Penn State now sits less than 100 days from the start of its 2025 season. It is one month and one day removed from the 2025 Blue-White game. That, of course, was the spring practice finale. Later this week, at least three of the program’s kick times will be revealed by the Big Ten and its television partners. Summer workouts kick off soon thereafter, and before we know it, conference media days in late July will usher us into preseason camp and eventually the first regular season contest opposite Nevada on Aug. 30 at Beaver Stadium. By the way, that’s one of the kick times we should learn this week, along with the ones for FIU in Week 2 and Villanova in Week 3.
