It’s decision day for Maryland four-star receiver Jeff Exinor. The 6-foot-1, 215-pound Class of 2025 recruit out of the McDonogh School in Maryland has whittled his list to three programs. Penn State is one of his finalists. After missing out on teammate Brandon Finney, a cornerback who picked Oregon, earlier this week, can the Nittany Lions both continue their overall recruiting hot streak and get back on the right track at McDonogh, all at the same time?

We preview Exinor’s decision below.

Sizing up Exinor’s recruitment

Exinor’s recruitment has been going on since 2021. It was April of that year when Penn State became the first program to offer the Baltimore native. It would not be the last. His list of suitors would eventually swell to more than 20 programs. On3 tracked the receiver with over 20 college visits during the recruiting process. So, his decision is well-researched. The Nittany Lions led his visit sheet with six total stops. Other schools that hosted him multiple times include Maryland (four), Virginia Tech (three), and Pittsburgh (two).

The On3 Industry Rankings call Exinor a four-star who is the nation’s No. 349 overall player, No. 52 receiver, and No. 9 player in the state of Maryland for the Class of 2025.

Who are the finalists besides Penn State?

The receiver’s visit sheet tells the story here. Penn State, Maryland, and Virginia Tech are Exinor’s three finalists. Those are also the only three programs he took official visits to this spring and summer.
