Mylachi Williams decides today; will the 4-star defender pick Penn State?
It’s decision day for Class of 2024 On3 Industry Ranking four-star defensive end Mylachi Williams. Penn State is one of the teams with a hat on the proverbial table. Will the Philadelphia, Pa., pass rusher pick the Nittany Lions when he announces his choice at 8 p.m. ET?
We preview his decision below.
Tracking Mylachi Williams’ recruitment
Penn State offered Williams back on Jan. 14. It was the second Power Five program to do so after Temple became the first one day earlier. All told, nearly 30 programs entered the race for the defender. Three schools eventually rose to the top, however, after Williams took numerous unofficial visits as a junior.
Who are the contenders?
Only three schools hosted Williams for an official visit. Penn State was first on June 9. Pittsburgh had the next opportunity on June 16. And, Syracuse was last on June 23. That trio makes up his final top three before the decision is announced.
Who leads on the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine?
Powered by an On3 RPM pick from BWI recruiting insider Ran Snyder, Penn State has a commanding lead in the On3 Recruiting Prediction Machine percentage leaderboard heading into decision day. It is the odds-on favorite by a significant margin.
What has he said about Penn State?
Speaking to BWI following his June official visit to Penn State, Williams had this to say:
“It was just a good experience getting to hang around the guys and just to see the smiles on everyone’s face. [Penn State] is a top choice because it’s Penn State.”
How can you follow Williams’ announcement?
Williams has not yet said how he will reveal his decision, but it is expected to come at 8 p.m. ET. This section will be updated if and when more information becomes available. William’s Twitter page is here. The latest can be found inside The Lions Den forum, as well.
