There’s no shortage of Penn State news following a busy Monday for the end of February. In addition to new running backs coach Stan Drayton meeting with the media for the first time, Penn State athletic director Pat Kraft also took questions to discuss a variety of subjects surrounding Nittany Lion athletics.

At On3, Monday was also the release of the updated On300 for the Class of 2026. There were both positive and negative moves among the group of committed players. Other top targets that aren’t yet committed, including defensive ends Carter Meadows and Luke Wafle, linebacker Mathieu Kanu and offensive lineman Grayson McKeogh, all made substantial gains.

So, where does the 2026 class now rank? We discuss that and more below.

Penn State Tweets of the Day

There were a few notable changes among Penn State’s committed players in the On300. Edge rusher Daniel Jennings and wide receiver Jahsiear Rogers both made significant moves upward. Jennings climbed nearly 70 spots to No. 165 nationally, while Rogers moved up more than 50 spots to N. 180. However, quarterback Troy Huhn was dropped out of the On300 altogether and is now considered a three-star prospect.

That balance played a role in Penn State holding firm at No. 6 nationally in the Class of 2026 Team Rankings. The Nittany Lions are also third in the Big Ten, with Oregon and USC at No. 1 and 2, respectively.

For those unfamiliar with On3’s Team Rankings, it should also be noted that we use the Industry Rankings – which combines On3, 247Sports, Rivals and ESPN for a cumulative grade on each player – to compile our team rankings.

In other news, former Penn State quarterback Matt McGloin is set to join Bill O’Brien at Boston College. ESPN’s Pete Thamel confirmed the move via social media on Monday evening. McGloin will join the staff as an offensive analyst.

McGloin resigned as the Lackawanna County Commissioner on Monday. He’s also currently a member of Penn State’s Board of Trustees.

The former walk-on from West Scranton made his first start for Penn State under Joe Paterno in 2010 during his sophomore year, but he wouldn’t become the full-time starter until O’Brien took over the program in 2012. He finished his senior season with 3,271 yards passing and 24 touchdowns. McGloin then spent four seasons with the Oakland Raiders starting in 2013.

Quote of the Day

“Everybody in the household is happy when I’m coaching and it can be very agitating to them when I’m not coaching. So, it’s just in me and I just love being around young people. I love helping young people reach their full potential and help them achieve the dreams they have for themselves. I just think that’s something that is my calling, so I just had to get back into it.”
