The pressure to play and play early is palpable for young men and women in college sports because players who don’t progress quickly usually get replaced by younger prospects. The ticking clock waits for no one, even at a development program like Penn State. Yet players who stay in one spot and get better over a traditional timeline still have a shot to be productive football players if they have the tools to do it.
